The last week of the month is about novelty, about experimentation, about trying something new, about breaking the routine, about being creative, about fun
Novelty helps in improving neuroplasticity which simply means that our brain can continue to form new connections and neural pathways. Research shows that when new pathways are formed and further strengthened, we can actually consciously re-wire our brains and improve its ability to function. The good news is that neuroplasticity can be improved even in adulthood by simply staying engaged in new activities or learning new skills. The more our brain is able to create new connections, the more plastic it becomes which enhances its ability to generate more of those “Aha!” moments.
The trick is to challenge ourselves to think in new ways and about new things. Our brain isn’t going to carve out new pathways when it isn’t being challenged to do so. This process of carving out new pathways in the brain isn’t happening at peak efficiency all the time, though. The trick is to let yourself loose. Its said “Novelty is the fuel on which the imagination runs”.
Allow your mind to wander just like when you were a child, Turn on the volume of your imagination and be receptive to try a new thing. So here is the Call to action
And Let me know what new thing have you tried?
My experiment this week is that I am interviewing a women leader who I admire. This is my first time doing this though I have played this role in a drama in the university; from reel to real life now 🙂 I may not be perfect but I am excited about this experiment. I am planning to host monthly interview series with thought leaders and inspirational people who are making a positive impact in our world. I have named the series – “Step up” where I shall dive deep to dig beneath the surface to understand what it takes to be a true leader. I hope the wisdom of nuggets would inspire people to “step up” in their own personal and professional journeys
Keep Smiling,
Until next..
