I have learned one significant lesson during my preparation for the Inspirational Leadership Summit.
World-class experts and thought leaders who I’ve been following for many years and only dreamt of speaking with applauded my leadership initiative and agreed to participate in the summit. I wonder if they see something that passed from my critical eye! I had just created a platform for building next-generation leaders because I believe the ripple effect of building inspirational leaders is huge; by allowing leaders to rethink leadership many people’s lives would be changed.
It all started like this…
I saw myself often complaining about the faulty, mediocre, ineffective systems and incompetent leadership models operating in today’s organizations. Wondering, I thought when and how would this change. I wanted to see a change in the way organizations are run; where happiness and well-being are valued, where people are seen, heard and felt. An organization where people are not just numbers in the payroll but valued and respected for the contribution they make.
That’s when Gandhi’s words echoed to my mind: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I heard him whispering in my ears. Instead of complaining, I learned that I must create the conditions for the change I seek. I realized that we can do a better job in building leaders that our future generations will be proud of. We can create organizations where our children and even grandchildren will want to work. All because they feel fulfilled–allowing them to live a happy life.
Yet I’m scared to take the leap. Still, I can’t help but ask myself:
This became the beginning of a fresh, new chapter in my life. It paved the way to the birth of the inspirational leadership summit where today’s world-class experts and thought leaders will join hands to support a movement, to uncover a different path, to proclaim that change is possible, and TO SHOW US THE WAY.
Seth Godin once said, “Leaders create the conditions where people can see new landscape, new opportunities and can choose new options and new actions.“
Now I understand why the thought leaders appreciated me! They joined the summit because they believe in the mission. I won’t reveal the speakers for now but I can tell that you surely are up for a real treat.
Indeed, Ryan Holiday’s words came true, obstacle became the way.
When we prioritize meaning, the rest of the big picture slowly falls into place. We often ignore the inner voice from our highest self that motivates us to do great work. It is that very voice that enables us to expand our reach, attract like-minded people and ultimately make us feel fulfilled.
Oftentimes, it’s not the what, but the why behind the what that inspires people to come along. Surprisingly, the why will also show us the way.
We are provided daily with opportunities to ignite a difference in this world we live in. Let’s make the most and take part in this significant mission.
Why we don’t become the new face of leaders? Why we don’t become the inspirational nextgenleader?
