Do you feel like, life has taken on a toll on you .. too much to do and too little time… family, work, children, social life…. ultimately nothing gets done.. I have been in these shoes many times.
Over the years I have learnt that the quality of our life is largely determined by the quality of how we manage ourselves. Sounds Basic, but true isn’t it?
If we fail to manage ourselves and our time properly, it gets difficult to control anything else.
The richest, most successful person in the world has the same twenty-four hours per day like us J.
The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people often accomplish vastly more than others because they use their time in a better and more effective way.
Psychologists say that our level of self-esteem— how much we like and respect ourselves is the key measure of how happy we are in any area of our life. The key to high self-esteem is a feeling of self-efficacy which is the confidence with which we can master our life, perform our tasks and get the results we expect.
So based on this theory.. self management leads to self efficacy which leads to high self esteem which is a critical parameter for happiness. Powerful !!
Food for thought.. Think.. What.. Which activities keep you busy through the day? Is there anything that can be shelved off?
On a lighter note.. Henry Ford said; “Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it”
Until Next,
