Why HABITS matter?

What percent do you think our genes have on the likelihood of getting cancer vis-à-vis our lifestyle habits?

If you’re like most people, you probably have guessed that the genes are the culprit.

But a study done on over 1000 adopted kids in Denmark showed that BIOLOGICAL parents who got cancer had NO effect on the adopted kids. And surprisingly, the kids’ whose ADOPTIVE parents got cancer before 50 had FIVE times the mortality risk. Now.. How is that possible? The adoptive parents didn’t pass on genes but they DIDpass on HABITS.

And, THAT’s why HABITS matter.

Nobel-prize winner Elizabeth Blackburnwho won a Nobel Prize for her research on telomerase in her book “The Telomere Effect” says, “Genes load the gun but the environment pulls the trigger.”

David Servan-Schreiber, a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine who published more than ninety articles in scientific journals says that our genes have a 15% impact max. Colin Campbell who was part of the largest epidemiological study, commonly known as “The China Study”says the risk is just 2-3%.

Just because you might have a genetic predisposition for something doesn’t mean you’re going to get that. Our lifestyle habits matter MOST. So OPTIMIZE YOUR HABITS!

If this research inspires you to take action, Think of what new habits you could inculcate and what you could eliminate?

Are sugary foods and sweetened drinks part of your daily diet? And if so, what you could do about it?
